This week Health on Earth spoke with sex ed educators from Montreal. Reforms put in place in 2001 effectively eliminated sexual education from the curriculum of Quebec. The province does not require any classes be dedicated to sex ed; instead, the topic is broached informally and at the discretion of teachers and school boards.

First, we spoke with Sarah Odell of the Head & Hands. The Sense Project provides workshops to schools in the Montreal area and aims to fill the gap created by the curricular reforms.

Richard Ouwendyk also gave us his perspective on the matter. He is an English teacher in a Montreal secondary school who now works with the Head & Hands.
