This week the YAHAnet.org team hosts a show about youth involvement in building healthier communities. The show brings together three panelists: Ian Bradley-Perrin, the Communications and Special Events Assistant for AIDS Community Care Montreal (ACCM) and an assistant for the project ARTSIDA5; Rachard Boz, director of Role Models, a network dedicated to promoting youth self-empowerment and critical thinking through art in Montreal and internationally; and John Murray, one of ten CrowdOutAIDS committee members responsible for drafting the first crowdsourced strategy in the history of the United Nations.
The panelists hold a lively discussion addressing the role of arts in addressing issues of sexual health, the importance of youth involvement, and the ways technology and social media are shaping the fight against HIV/AIDS. The show also shares the work of the Centre for HIV and Sexual Health in the UK with their campaign "HIV Hop”, a music video aiming to reduce stigma and misconceptions around HIV transmission.
