We may have heard about psychoanalysis, which stems from the outpatient practice of clinical medicine, specifically of clinical neurology, and discovered by the Austrian neurologist Sigmund Freud. This practice attempts to explore the unconscious human mind through physician-patient interactions. Since the Second World War, psychoanalysis has become common. With modern psychiatry is flooded with medication-based advances, such as Prozac and SSRi, there seems to be a distinguishable gap between the biological and psychological psychiatry - or the focus of the brain versus the mind.

This show tries to explore this topic with an interview with Dr. Reid, a London-based psychiatrist, who provides psychodynamic psychotherapy.

You can listen to the show here!

We also encourage you to read this article, published in 2010 by Dr.Shedler, and it illustrates the efficacy of psychodynamic psychotherapy with scientific evidences.
